Operations Manager

Matt is the Operations Manager at Geographe Civil, responsible for project pre-planning, subcontractor and stakeholder management, tendering, safety monitoring, resource planning, fleet management, and project execution. With over 33 years of experience in the civil construction industry, he has developed expertise in earthworks, pavement construction, logistics, estimating, and mechanical operations.

Matt began his career in civil construction at just 17 years old, working with Tier 1 contractors across Western Australia in roles ranging from Final Trim Operator to Supervisor. He joined Geographe Civil in 2012 as a Supervisor and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2020, the same year he became a Director in the company. His extensive knowledge and leadership have played a key role in the company’s growth and operational efficiency.

His experience includes working as a Final Trim Grader Operator on the Materials Offloading Facility at Barrow Island and various road infrastructure projects for Main Roads WA. As an Operations Manager, he has overseen significant projects for Talison Lithium, including TSF Wall Lifts, Tailings Dams, Explosives Pad Civil Works, and Camp Civil Infrastructure works, ensuring efficient execution of the projects.

Matt holds multiple machinery tickets and licenses, Certificates, and has extensive experience with GPS systems and fleet management. His leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills enable him to drive high standards of efficiency and safety across all projects.
